FileView 1.0
What
===============================================================================
FileView is a handy utility program that allows you to look at and change
the contents of any file. The display shows 80 bytes at a time in decimal,
hexadecimal, and character formats. In addition to allowing individual bytes
to be altered the user may pad bytes onto the end of the file. FileView
includes on-line help summarizing its concepts and commands.
Why
===============================================================================
Programmers can use FileView to debug custom file formats or to determine the
organization of someone else's file format. ASCII text embedded within
executable files pops right off the screen at you. FileView makes hunting down
and changing an application's default values easy. The possibilities are too
numerous to comprehend, but without doubt FileView is a powerful hacking tool.
Who
===============================================================================
This software is shareware, i.e. copy it, use it, distribute it. If FileView
is of use to you then please consider sending me a few dollars; my wife is
always nagging me to get a real job, so help me shut her up.

Those of you who send $5 and a disk will receive FileView 2.0 when it's
completed; for $10 (and greater) donors I'll supply the disk. Your suggestions
for improvements/new features will be considered. Beware, if you send a disk
with no money, don't expect a response; I can't afford the return postage, I'm
impoverished as it is.
